Submission Guidelines
All work must be previously unpublished and exclusive to Love & Literature.
Submissions for print issue 2 'Lel Aayleh' CLOSED
'Lel aayleh' For the Family للعيلة
Family is found or discovered, born with or brought together. We are
ancestrally tied. The idea of family often stirs strong emotions; what does the
thought of family ignite in you? We warmly encourage collaborative submissions
with relatives or chosen family, though this is not a requirement for participation.
Digital submissions are open year-round
Digital Submissions
Written
We welcome all forms of written communication for our digital platform: poetry, short
stories, articles, interviews, essays. Please submit in a word doc using standard manuscript format (12 point, Times New Roman, double spaced). Written submission must be accompanied by an image for our website, please provide at least 3 images with submission. These images do not have to be your own, but cannot be taken without appropriate permission and rights to the images.

with subject line “digital submission”. Provide a link to a digital folder of the accompanying images in JPEG or PDF format. Provide necessary credits for the images in the body of the email, i.e.

Art
Any medium that can be captured professionally (high-resolution scan or photograph) is welcome for our digital platform. This includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, collage, etc. Please provide a written description to accompany the work (minimum 300 words) and a title.

If the work is collaborative, please include all appropriate credits within the body of the email, including Instagram handle, i.e.

Photography/Videography
We welcome both photography and videography on our digital platform. Fashion
As this is predominantly an art and literature magazine, we accept limited fashion works and we are highly selective.
Editorials with a heavy artistic approach are welcome. For designers and stylists, lean into creative expression as loudly as you wish and experiment with presenting garments in non-traditional ways.
